5 Beach Tips for the Summer
Ahh, it's that time of year again. Everyone is dreaming of sandy toes and boardwalk ice cream. Before you pack your bag, check out these 5 handy beach tips to help you have a successful vacay.
GO BAREFOOT! But don't forget to put sunscreen on the tops-and bottoms-of your feet. Officials warn that melanoma is the most common form of malignancy on the feet and that the survival rate of people with melanoma on the feet is significantly lower (52%) than melanoma anywhere else on the body (85%).
FUNKY UMBRELLA! We all know you need a great beach umbrella for some much-needed respite from the sun to keep your skin beautiful and free of hyperpigmentation. But don't pick just ANY umbrella - get one that's funky & fun and reflects the real you. Plus, your friends will be able to find you much more easily.
HYDRATE IN STYLE! Yeah yeah, hydrated skin is more beautiful, blah blah blah, but when you're at the beach, stay hydrated in STYLE. You're not at a desk today, so go find a coconut and stick a straw in that baby.
MIND YOUR NEIGHBORS! Not only are YOU sittin' ocean-side, enjoying the sea breeze ... but other people are too. Try not to kick sand on sunbathers while you walk past them and definitely don't shake out your beach towel in the middle of a crowded spot. A little common sense will go a long way.
UNPLUG. Here's a handy life-hack. If you want to keep your phone sand-free, simply place it in a plastic zip-lock baggie annnnnnd ... leave it in your hotel room (!) and go to the beach without it! Now you are free to enjoy your beach experience by living in the moment, free of push notifications and endless scrolling. We'll miss you, but we'll be here when you come back.
